edition one: LET IT BURN
Let It Burn is the first edition of the Kindling Creative Lab project - a week-long artist retreat at Kaya Grounds, Sintra. We will gather a cohort of dedicated artists from around the world to live, create, and transform together through the elemental power of fire.

We invite artists at any stage in their career (emerging or established) who are ready to push the boundaries of their practice. This is not a holiday. It’s a space for experimentation, collaboration, and daring vulnerability.You should be comfortable with
• Camping and communal living
• Cooking together in teams
• Sharing your process in a group
• Embracing the unexpectedThis experience is open to all fine art disciplins, but please take into consideration you will need to bring your own art materials. Every participant will be provided with a personal studio space , and their own tent to call home for the week.

a journey of ignition, destruction & transformation
• Arrivals Monday morning ready to jump into the journey.
• There will be daily workshops to explore the creative psyche.
• The week will blend time collaborating and working on personal practice.
• We'll gather around mealtimes, and fireside conversations.
• With a couple of forums to present work-in-progress.
• Wellness and intergration are key with sauna/hot-tub sessions, and time spent in nature in the Sintra forrest and at the beach
• All working towards a co-created immersive exhibition at Kaya Grounds on Sunday, flowing into a closing celebration.

Applications for Let It Burn are now open.To apply, simply complete our short form where you’ll share a bio, your portfolio, and a video introducing your practice and why this residency calls to you.Once we’ve reviewed applications, we’ll invite a shortlist of artists to join us for an online conversation in mid-September. KINDLING:
(noun) small pieces of wood or dry material to make a fire
(verb) to ignite, to nurture, or to bring something to life - including emotions, ideas, and community.
Kindling is a space for community, wellness and creativity ignited by the elements.
Every Sunday we open our doors to our sauna and hot tub, take part in guided sauna ceremonies, and gather around the bonfire with music, a homemade meal, herbal teas, and good company.
